YDCare x Advantech: Defining the Future of Smart Home Healthcare

As the aging population accelerates and the demand for chronic disease management continues to rise, traditional healthcare models are extending from hospitals to homes. Home-based healthcare has become a critical direction for optimizing medical resource allocation and addressing diverse health needs.

In this context, YDCare and Advantech have officially entered into a strategic partnership to launch the iHomecare Smart Home Healthcare Solution. This solution combines Advantech’s mature iWard Smart Ward platform technology with YDCare’s clinical experience in home healthcare. It aims to extend hospital-grade care capabilities into domestic settings, with plans for primary implementation in the Hong Kong market.

From April 9 to 12, both parties jointly showcased the iHomecare platform at the China International Medical Equipment Fair (CMEF). Ethan Yeung, head of YDCare, conducted in-depth demonstrations at the exhibition, highlighting how iHomecare integrates smart ward technology with home care needs. The demonstration presented a model of "Hospital-Grade Care at Home," extending clinical nursing workflows to the family environment to enhance care efficiency and service continuity.

Under this strategic collaboration, Advantech will lead platform R&D, system operations, and Medical IoT device integration. YDCare will be responsible for designing clinical pathways, localized service models, and the practical implementation of application scenarios in Hong Kong.

The two parties will jointly create an integrated care model covering the entire process of Monitoring - Assessment - Intervention - Management, applied in:

  • - Continuous monitoring and management of chronic diseases

  • - Post-operative recovery and home nursing

  • - Elderly care and long-term health management

  • Digitalized nursing workflows

The iHomecare platform plans to adopt a tiered product design, launching a Standard version for primary caregivers and a Premium version for professional nursing managers. This will meet the diverse needs of different user levels, balancing scalable application with professional service enhancement.

The partnership between YDCare and Advantech is more than a simple addition of technology and care; it is a significant practice of extending smart healthcare into home settings. With Hong Kong as the launch market, both parties will leverage Advantech’s iWard technical foundation and YDCare’s professional care advantages to build the iHomecare platform. This platform will address key industry pain points, driving the digitalization and intelligent upgrade of services to provide new models for chronic disease management, post-op recovery, and aging-in-place.
